Jeffrey J. McWeeney

Jeffrey J. McWeeney, a partner in the Brick law firm of King, Kitrick and Jackson, LLC, has been reappointed as a trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting law-related education and giving all New Jersey residents a basic understanding of the legal system.

 

McWeeney concentrates his practice in elder law and is the director of his firm's elder law section. A member of the New Jersey State Bar Association's Elder Law Section and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, McWeeney is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the National Guardianship Association and the Guardianship Association of New Jersey, Inc. An adjunct professor at Ocean County College, McWeeney has been a longtime member of the Foundation's Speakers Bureau, speaking to community and senior citizens groups regarding wills and estate planning.

            

After serving as president-elect, he is the new president of the Ocean County Bar Association, which he formerly served as secretary and trustee.  Chair of the Technology Committee and trustee liaison to the Elder Law and Probate committees, he is also a former chair of its Technology, Mock Trial and Law Day committees, as well as its Bar Panel Mediation Program for Probate and Equity Matters and Young Lawyers Section. McWeeney was awarded the OCBA's Young Lawyer of the Year Award in 1996. In addition, he is a former chair of the Ocean County Ethics Committee.


Earning degrees from Boston College and Seton Hall University School of Law, McWeeney also studied for a semester abroad at Regent's College in London. He resides in Wall with his wife Lynn and their five children, Elizabeth, Catharine, Bronwyn, Sean and Brendan.
