Donna duBeth Gardiner

            Morristown attorney Donna duBeth Gardiner has been reappointed to the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting law-related education and giving all New Jersey residents a basic understanding of the legal system.

            She is a former journalist and recipient of the Pulitzer Prize in 1981.

            An active member of the Essex County Bar Association, she served as its president and was a Trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association, which formally recognized her six years of distinguished service in 2008. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the New Jersey Law Journal and was a member of the Board of Directors of the former New Jersey Lawyer.

            As a partner at McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP, she concentrates on employment and civil rights litigation defense, exclusively representing employers in both state and federal courts and before administrative agencies.  She also provides in-house training and counseling for employers.

            Ms. Gardiner taught as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Seton Hall University Law School, teaching legal writing and research as well as New Jersey procedure and practice.

            A graduate of the University of Oregon, she graduated summa cum laude from Seton Hall Law School, where she was first in her class and named Outstanding Woman Graduate.  While a student she was a member of the Seton Hall Law Review and its Associate Articles Editor.  She is past Master in the Seton Hall University Law School Alumni Association's Inn of Court.
