The New Jersey State Bar Foundation is offering its legal newspaper for kids, The Legal Eagle, FREE! The Legal Eagle is a project which the Foundation launched in the Fall of 1996. Today, the newspaper reaches more than 262,000 students in nearly 1,900 schools across the state. Don't miss this great opportunity for your kids to learn about the law. The newspaper, which explains the legal system to students in plain language, is most suitable for students in grades 5 to 8, however distribution is open to all students. The Legal Eagle has something for everyone and can complement any curriculum from elementary to high school. The Foundation hopes that the newspaper will facilitate discussion between you and your students about the legal system and the laws that affect them. Items in past issues have included articles on DNA evidence, the death penalty, affirmative action, hate crimes and internet safety. Order as many copies of the Foundation's FREE newspaper as you need by completing the order form below.
